how to get header.h for MC56F8036 ?

Hi, I used TI and microchip products, and CCS and C30 always provide the header.h for the chip you selected. now I'm just moving to CW, I find it is so inconvenient for me to get header.h. it is so ridiculous for me write it for I am not familar with 8036 and even the guy who is the expert can't guarantee there is no mistake if he tried to write. or maybe I overlooked some perfect method on CW, afterall I am newbie to CW. Any guide is appreciated. thank in advance.

Hi,

There are several ways to create a project with CodeWarrior for DSC with some option.

First you must define if you want to use Processor Expert or not.

With the Project Wizard you can create exactly the project you needed (File ¦ New).

Attached you will find 2 project I created  with the wizard.

One is using Processor Expert and the second not.

Processor Expert also makes porting a

breeze. Simply select the new 56800 or

56800E processor and Processor Expert

maps the software and peripheral

components that describe your application’s

functionality to the resources available on the

new processor. All you have to do is resolve

any problems flagged by Processor Expert

and you’re finished.

I tried both methods, but the files generated are not the same as yours, maybe the version is different.

second thing, I note the project you built with PE has the header file while the other doesn't, so my question is : if you do want the header file, must you utilize the PE wizard to generate the project or at least copy this one to your projects.

I don't know the tool version used but I recommend you to use the last version:

In the download tab you can download the Special Edition or the Evaluation.

The Special edition contains the special edition license limited to 32 kb of Code.

We recommend you to download the Evaluation edition.

A Professional Evaluation license is provided for first 30 days.

After 30 days the product will function at the Special Edition level.

If you need another version of the license please contact your local distributor.

You can purchase it directly from the web site too.

We changed the pricing and packaging structure for Codewarrior Tool.

Now there are 4 suites:

 basic

Go to the www.freescale.com and click on My Freescale.

After you were logged, select CodeWarrior Licensing under MY Secure Application.

In the new dialog you can manage your license file.

Keep in mind you can have several versions installed on the same PC.

There is only one restriction: install them on separate folder.

If you're using an old version, please backup your project before to try it with this new version.

If you will meet some compatibility issue you could back to the older version without problem.

yes we are trying to order a license, so the CW is free one. But before it is caught I just warm up with the avaliable one. thank you for explaining so much. by the way, the process I am getting familiar with it and skilled in CW and DSCs of freescale has many issues waiting for me ahead, so any help from you or the fourm is appreciated.thanks.
