FLEXlm: can compile but not link

Hello

I installed the CodeWarrior Development Studio (V6.2, build 8127)  for ColdFire V1 on my Windows XP machine. The Licence Server for my floating licence is (after having documentation troubles) set up und running - I can compile the project received from our partner company.

But thats all: I can compile but I can not link... the following message appears:

Error   : Unable to use the plugin "Embedded ColdFire Linker". It is licensed and a valid license key was not found.
License server does not support this feature
Feature:       Win32_ColdFireV1_Special_128
License path:  C:\Programme\Freescale\CodeWarrior for Microcontrollers -
    V6.2\license.dat
FLEXlm error:  -18,147
For further information, refer to the FLEXlm End User Manual,
available at "www.macrovision.com".

The error code explanation in the End User Manual does not really help and so I analysed the licence file: there is no such entry as Win32_ColdFireV1_Special_128 or Win32_ColdFireV1_Special_64.

Does anyone know why I there is a different licence needed for compiling and linking?  What can I do to solve this problem?  (There was no reaction in any kind of the support so far)

I am a bit confused here.

Are you using a special edition license or are you using a floating license on a FLEXlm license server?

If you are using a floating license can you get me the log file generated on the license server?

I was confused to, but now the problem is solved:

I tried to compile a solution of a partner company just knowing that they are using a Coldfire processor. 

Being a Freescale/CodeWarrior newbie I didn't realise that there are two different Coldfires, a V1 and a V2 (the project was set up and I have only to maintenance/check some code in it). So I installed only the licence for the V2 and not the one for the V1 (including HCS08).

Obviously the V1 and V2 compiler use the same license, so I was able to start the IDE and compile files, but the linker of the two derivates does not have the same license...

Now I installed the the correct license and "happy linking" starts :smileyhappy:
