When I try to step into next instruction or  somtimes put a break point or do a hard reset from the CodeWarrior IDE I get a message that says:

ELF is not in expected HALT mode or
ELF is not in expected STOP mode

Any idea what this means. Thanks for any inputs.

I'm using USB TAP to connect to target, with a default clock speed of 4.03 MHz. CodeWarrior version 8.7.

Hi,

I'm trying to connect USB TAP to our custom board. I'm getting the following messages
" Failed to freeze at negation of hreset" and "ELF is not in expected HALT mode" messages.

I presume some thing fundamental is wrong with this board. Any pointers on when I would see this type of messages?

Thanks  a bunch,
Prasad

Hello

I would recommend you to create a new post for that issue.

Make sure you specify which target and version of CodeWarrior you are using.
To retrieve that info:
- Start CodeWarrior
- Select Help -> About Freescale CodeWarrior
- Click on "Install Products"
- CodeWarrior version used is displayed on top in the Installed Products dialog.

Another freescaler has posted a reply to this question in CodeWarrior for ColdFire and Power forum.

Thanks anyway.
