if a BDM, HCS08 series program.
can program the "MC9S08SE8CRL"?,
or is there except for a micros?,
I'm new to microcontrollers

Hi Isaac,
As all MC9S08xxx MC9S08SE8yyy may be programmed with an universal USB Multilink programmer from PEmicro or by a cheaper OSBDM programmer which has some disadvantages when running from CodeWarrior 6.3 (it cannot trim internal oscillator by default).
Another possibility is to use the buried USBMultilink programmer in the DEMO9S08SE8 evaluation board to program external in-circuit uCU of the same series (the program, while is a complete PEmicro multilink is software bounded to program only -SE series).
S08 and HCS08 are synonymous but the latter is no more used. Do not confuse with HC08 from the older 68HC908xx series which are pretty different in CPU specifications and lower in performance. They uses also different, much complicate, in-circuit programming and tools.

Same thing that S08 HCS08,
if yes why they put HC?
