I am doing my final year project a robot car capable of audio video transmission(long range) & receiving at a display TV.
I want to know what will be my optimum device to use for transmission as well as receiving ? In receiver section I don't understand how the RF signal will be demodulated and split the audio and video. Please give the technical details of the devices to be used, mainly the frequencies. Please help me.
Hello, I notice that you have posted the same question in three different locations. Please do not cross post.
Having said that, your AV transmission requirement would appear to be well outside the scope of this 8-bit forum. I might suggest that this be tackled as the separate issue from the remote control of motors, steering, etc.
What do you consider to be "long range". The frequency bands available for short range, wide bandwidth transmissions are likely to differ from country to country, as will licencing requirements. A higher power transmission, for increased range would likely require a special licence.
For the AV, you might consider using a commercially available wireless camera and receiver, typically used for security purposes.
For the remote control of the robot motors, etc, the use of 2.4GHz modules utilising the MC1321x series devices may be appropriate. The SMAC code may be a possibility for your point-to-point operation.

I work with industrial remote controls every day, and in my experience 2.4GHz will be useless for this application. You will have a very short range <100m, and the signal will die as soon as the car goes behind a large obstacle, especially if it goes behind a metal roof etc. This is quite independent of the technique used (Bluetooth, WLAN etc), because of the small wave length of 2.4GHz.
I'd strongly recommend using narrowband transmission at 400MHz / 900MHz, which will be insensitive to obstacles and also allow a greater range. The public ISM bands on these frequencies are license-free pretty much everywhere in the world save for the US.
thanks lundin. but since i m a final year student having almost no application based knowledge eagerly want to know from you the circuit for transmission and receiving as well as the IC's for your specified frequency range so that i will be able to start my project work. I am really puzzled about this. Please help me out of this giving the details. Awaiting response.
Thanks a olt for your reply.I couldnot understand where to post, so i did multiple posts.sorry for it.
You are right that the AV tx needs wireless cam. But i cant find how to make the 2.4 Ghz transmitter and compatible receiver module. If you please specify the chips of freescale & circuits of transmitter and receiver i will be really thankful.
