PWM resolution vs frequency

Hi, 

I see a relation between frequency and resolution in the PWM module. Is there any equation for this with a S08SH? Any way to know how many time I need to reach a desired resolution?

I would like to generate a 200KHz PWM with more than 8 bits resolution, is it possible directly with a S08SH?

Hello,

To achieve 8-bit PWM resolution at 200kHz frequency would require a TPM clock frequency of 256 * 200 kHz, or 51.2 MHz.  This is clearly not feasible with 8-bit MCU devices.
