I want to increase the transmission range of the board 13213-NCB. I tried to attach a WLAN 2.4 GHz antenna to the plug but I can't see some benefits. May I must enable somewhere via software this type of antenna module or it isn't the right one?
Hi Cecchi, there is no module to enable via software. Are you sure that antenna have the right connector? is SMA or reverse SMA? Take a look to the connectors and check if there is the hot pole inside the plug.
P.S. Have you change the position of R111? If you take a look on schematic you can see for enable the external antenna you must move R111 in the R112 location.
Unfortunately, I don't have a hot pole here...I must buy a "male" antenna. However, I don't understand this statement on the docs: "For RF measurements or for evaluating other antennas, connector J100 (SMA) can be enabled by moving a 0 Ohm jumper."
Ah ok I found in my docs. However, It looks strange that to use an external antenna I must modify the board Is it only a jumper? I don't understand where is...I don't see it on the board.
