I just used BeeKit to generate the star end device application for the MC1321x-SRB.  It won't compile on the 32K limited version of CodeWarrior.

Freescales AN3403 "IEEE 802.15.4/Zigbee Software Selector Guide" shows in Table 1 that the MAC + application should only need 24-27K (this document is dated 9/2007, so it isn't that long ago).

Is there some marketing hype going on or has the MAC grown by feature creep so much that it not longer can fit in the MC13212?

Snickels,
the MAC codebase is bundled with several different MAC library configurations so of them will not fit in 32KB.
Try selecting the FFDNBNS library on the MAC component as this according to reference manual is about 22KB.

Else you might have to disable modules like the LCD or other not needed modules.
