M9S08QG8 doesn't run after some time in our application.

I have had problems using QG8, I program it by using CYCLONE programmer in production stage. I have programmed 5.000 chips for an automotive application. 20 of these have returned because they don't run. I check pins and they are in high impedance. However, if I reprogram the chips they work well again. I have not checked the memory because I protected it. I only read zeros.

Do you have any suggestions?

On the failed units, do you test whether flash is blank or not?  Do you do a final test of each unit prior to shipping?

I think you need to rule out the possibility that the programming of a few devices might have been "missed".  It can easily happen.
