Hi, @Vidyarthi

Thanks for your questions.

Standard Wi‑Fi is not inherently limited to just a few meters, but its default protocol design—especially ACK timing and MAC behavior—limits long-distance operation. Companies like DJI and Doodle Labs achieve kilometer‑scale links mostly by heavily modifying or extending Wi‑Fi, rather than using it in its standard form. But you can ask them how to achieve in details.

By the way, which NXP Wi-Fi product are you using?

Based on your detailed NXP Wi-Fi product, if have any detailed issue, we can provide you better support.

Best regards,

Hi All,

I'd like to know if there's a way around to make the wifi go long distance in km instead of a few meters. I know that this is limited by acknowledgement mechanisms.

Then I wonder how DJI and Doodle labs are able to achieve long ranges for drones using wifi. Please enlighten me.

Thank you!

Vidyarthi
