Hi， @AlbertoGallegos

The RSSI is related to Radio, JN-AN-1172 is used to test Radio.

To get RSSI, you can also refer to below package

Zigbee 3.0 Green Power Devices

There is RSSI API in these two packages.

Besides, you are right, now JN5169 is no new software releases planned. Please think about our JN5189 as a choice.

Thanks for your understandings.

Best regards,

Christine.

Thank you, @Christine_Li, for your reply.

Zigbee 3.0 Green Power Devices package is for JN5189, but even if I was using JN5189, as I mentioned, I am not using Zigbee. Furthermore, The JPT API contained in the JN-AN-1172 cannot be used along with the IEEE 802.15.4 stack because is for radio testing purposes, as you mentioned.

I am using IEEE 802.15.4 MAC directly with my JN5169. The idea is to obtain the RSSI read during the last received packet as described by IEEE 802.15.4-2015 onwards. Since JN5169 do not provide RSSI in its MCPS-DATA.indication parameters I was thinking something in the lines of this:
```
void
ProcessIncomingMcps(MAC_McpsDcfmInd_s* psMcpsInd)
{
switch (psMcpsInd->u8Type)
{
case MAC_MCPS_IND_DATA: {
MAC_RxFrameData_s* psFrame;
psFrame = &psMcpsInd->uParam.sIndData.sFrame;
uint8_t srcAddrMode = psFrame->sSrcAddr.u8AddrMode;
uint16_t srcPanId = psFrame->sSrcAddr.u16PanId;
uint8_t dstAddrMode = psFrame->sDstAddr.u8AddrMode;
uint16_t dstPanId = psFrame->sDstAddr.u16PanId;
// Read last packet RSSI from MAC registers here.
}
}
```
Any further help would be much appreciated.
Regards,
Al.

I checked with our internal team, and received reply that, Yes, you are right. You can use it in your mentioned function with below API:

PUBLIC uint8 u8MMAC_GetRxLqi(uint8 *pu8Msq);

@Christine_Li , thank you for asking to the internal team.

However, I think that API is not usable with JN5169, but even if it wa usable, as the described by the name of the API, that obtains the LQI (Link quality indicator) no the the RSSI, (received signal streght indicator) which is typical a int8 to describing values in dBm. In contrast LQI is uint8 value.

Furthemore, as seen in the previous code posted above we already can obtain the LQI value from the parameters of the mcps-data.indication.
In the code example the above, is the psFrame which contains

psFrame = &psMcpsInd>uParam.sIndData.sFrame;
psFrame->sIndData.sFrame->u8LinkQuality;

What I require is the RSSI not the LQI, that is why I was asking if it would be possible to obtain it directly from the registers.....or if the API exist from an API.

I apologize for the instance, but any further help on obtaining RSSI would be much appreciated.

Regards,
Al.
