PN7150 inside antenna

Hi!

I'm interested if there is any experience/documentation regarding placing the PN7150 inside the antenna body?

I'm tight with space on my PCB and would like to explore the idea of placing the components inside the antenna. How much will this affect the performance? Would the routing of the I2C and other pins interrupt the workings of the antenna?

Hello, thank you very much for using our products.

Unfortunately, we don't recommend this. Please find the Antenna Design guide, where some of the recommendations and limitations are shown. We strongly recommend placing the IC outside of the antenna coil, we do have a very small IC footprint of 6 x 6 mm. Please try to follow the design guides, which will ensure the NFC communication can be successfully done.
