This is the simplest approach which relies on &lt;BR /&gt;out-of-reset settings. You can check the link status in &lt;BR /&gt;MDIO_XFI_PCS_SR1[PCS_RX_LNK_STAT] and in the similar bit on the far &lt;BR /&gt;end.
