Hello,

I want to use PN7412 in my design for contact smart card project.

But I will need to program it with an example software that is provided as a link from UM10883.

Can PN7412 be programmed by examples that are meant for PN7462?

Yes, PN7462 can programmed with an example software.

In UM10883, you can see how to Import/Build/Run/Debug provided SW example projects .please refer to section 8.5~section 8.7 for more details.

Thank you for your answer. But I want to know can PN7412 be programmed by the same software examples or are there some examples especially for this IC?

When I look at the PN7462 family, I am interested in PN7412 and not in PN7462. I just need contact card application without contactless card functionalities.

Hi @Vlatakomarac :

We can easily modify existing PN7462 examples to keep the CT interface only. Then we have a FW fit for PN7412.

So we will eliminate CL task and clean up the source.

I have found PN7462 example source code. So do you mean that I should change the source code to remove the contactless functionalities and keep the contact card funcionalities?

Does this mean that NXP will offer this new code for PN7412 on its website maybe for download?

There is no library for PN7412, customers can modify it by themselves.

Now all I need to know is, do I need to change the PN7462 example project to program my PN7412? Or can I just program the PN7412 with the available code for PN7462, would that work? I am guessing it won't work without any changes but I have to make sure with you.

And in the case that I do need to change the code. What exactly do I need to change? Is it enough to just delete all code related to contactless functionalities and leave contact functionalities entact?
