Attach to running target keeps resetting mcu

Hi,

I need to connect to a running target for debugging purposes (s32K11x mcu).

The debugger resets the MCU event if I select "Connect to running target".

Hovering with the mouse over the checkbox, the current label appears: "Currently not supported by SEGGER".

But back in the '15s ErichS‌ was able to connect to a running target without issues (and so was I).

Is really the connect to running target not supported for segger debugger?

What are suitable probes for this purpose?

Any known workaround?

Hi,

it looks that segger j-link performs reset even when connecting to running target. I tried PE Micro (OpenSDA) - and it can connect to running target without reset.

thanks for your reply!

According to Jlink/Jtrace user guide (soft version 6.40, rev0) there should be the "monitor debugging mode".
This link to segger's wiki provides some hint on that.

I'm wondering if someone tried successfully it in S32DS for ARM.
