Hi, I’m working with the S32K344 in an ASIL‑B (ASIL2) safety project. I need to change some UART configuration registers that are not accessible through the S32DS Configuration Tool.

My question is:

If I manually modify some peripheral registers during initialization – outside what is generated by the S32DS configuration tool – does this affect the safety integrity of the application?

In other words, are these “late initializations” still considered compliant with the safety concept, or do they invalidate any part of the safety configuration generated by the SDK/RTD tools?

Thanks in advance.

Hi @ggreguer,

Please refer to the RTD Software Safety Manual of the latest RTD 7.0.0.

The manual is available in the safety package:

SW32K3_S32M27x_RTD_R23-11_7.0.0_D2511_SafetyPackage.zip

Refer to Section 8.3.3.1.1 General External Assumptions.

[EA_RTD_00141]

Best regards,
