topic MPC8306 and MPC8306S interchangeability in PowerQUICC Processors

Hello,

If special features of MPC8306 ( eSDHC, 4xCAN, IEEE 1588) are not used can these two processors be used interchangeably as drop-in replacements for each other subject to a common core speed? Note that our design requires the use of all 3x10/100 Mbps ethernet with MII interface. Note that our design has been tested with MPC8306 but want to consider using MPC8306S due to availability issues.

Regards,
