Hi folks,

I am working on a product that uses an MSC SM2S-IMX8PLUS card and Cirrus Logic WM8281 audio codec chips. The imx8plus SMARC card is connected to the codec chip digital audio interfaces with its I2S interface. I have been trying to locate a raw I2S linux driver so the SMARC can read/write digital audio in and out of the codec chips.

However, the only drivers I can find are all ALSA SoC based driver. All I want is a simple I2S driver so I can have read/write audio to the codec chips without the baggage of the ALSA framework.

Can someone point me to a simple non-ASoC I2S linux driver that can handle this?

Thanks,

-Andres
