Processor Expert, Freescale tools, Kinetis design studio... meet IEC 61508 standards, don´t they?

Hi,

I would like to ask about the compliance with IEC 61508 standards by Processor Expet, Freescale tools, Kinetis Design Studio in order to work with the MK20DX256VLH7. My main hesitation is about compliance with IEC 61508 standards in generated code by these code development tools.

If the standards is met in these tools, it is posible you could tell me how to get a supporting document that validates that this standards is really met.

Hi,

Unfortunately , we currently do not perform any certification tests prior to releasing the software tools.

All the MCUs that passed safety standards are listed here:

Functional Safety for ISO 26262 and IEC 61508|NXP

Hi,

I´ve just read that some parts of the standards are met in Freescale tools and MCUs. I attached two documents that reference to this.

Although It isn´t met any certification tests related to software tools I imagine that the code generation tool 'Processor Expert' (that it works in Kinetis Design Studio, KDS) mets some particular requirements or parts of rules.

We are interested in some parts of rules that are met in 'Processor expert'. In particular we are interested in some parts of rules that are met by support tools, including programming languages and software generated by these tools. In this case 'Processor Expert' is the tool. Could you tell me where we could find these requirements or parts of rules that are met by 'Processor Expert' and KDS and they are related with the support tools including programming languages and software that it generates?

We would like to compare or contrast these requirements with the IEC 61508 standards , and see what parts of the standards is met.
