Hi,

I'm working on a FRDM-K64 with a USB-CDC sw. After some problems I'm now able to sometimes get it to connect to my PC and communicate.

For the moment I'm using Win-7, TeraTerm and the FRDM-K64.

When I stop my target windows removes the serial port, (pling-plong) and TeraTerm disconnects.

When restarting the target windows re-connects the serial port, (pling-plong), but often the serial-port is not visible to TeraTerm,

(COM-24 is not visible in the COM drop-down list). The Computer --> Manage --> Device Manager shows COM-24 as OK and working.

I've tried to disconnect the COM-24, and re-connect. The re-connect typically ends in an infinite loop, and I have to re-boot my PC.

How am I supposed to do development work on the CDC device???

Hi Ole,

That seems to be typical operation.

If the Kinetis device disconnect and the PC application does not disconnect prior to the Kinetis "re-connecting" then the connection is not possible.

My general rule of thumb is that once the Kinetis device disconnects, I close out the terminal utility. Once Kinetis re-enumerate, then open the terminal utility.

Not sure there is any other workaround.

Regards,

David
