Does TJA1059 comply the following standard ?

ISO 11898-1: International standard defining the CAN data link layer including LLC, MAC and PLS sub-layers.

In the datasheet, it specifies that the TJA1059 complies with ISO 11898-2:2016 and SAE J2284-1 to SAE J2284-5, but there is no information regarding ISO 11898 -1.

Hi Srinath,

As already written in your question: “ISO 11898-1: International standard defining the CAN data link layer including LLC, MAC and PLS sub-layers”. ISO11898-1 defines the CAN protocol, which is handled by the CAN controller and is not relevant for the transceiver.

Our transceivers need to comply to ISO11898-2, which is the physical layer.
