topic Questions about the MAG3100 magnetometer in Other NXP Products

I have several questions regarding the MAG3100 magnetometer.

1. The spec lists many Output rates and oversample ratios. What are the use cases? For example when should an output rate of 80Hz be used vs 0.08 Hz? What is the optimal output rate / oversample ratio for an e-compass application?

2. The part has an option to do triggered measurement, i.e sample once and go into standby, as opposed to continuous sampling in active mode. What is a typical use case for this feature? Can/should it be used in an e-compass application?

Thank you

Andy
