I found out that it is because the new version of the iMX-27, TO2, is not yet compatible with the BSP that Freescale provides. There is a patch for CE5.0 BSP but I don't know yet if there is one for 6.0.

Hi

I'm trying to get the WinCE 6.0 running on our iMX27 ADS board. I use the ADS Toolkit Ver 1.3 to load the eboot.nb0 to NOR flash. It seems to program fine, I read back the memory and it is correct.
But when trying to boot eboot I get the Freescale splash screen on the display and a few hundred bytes of garbage on serial debug (should be 115200 but tried all other options) and then nothing else.

Is there anything I've missed here, anyone done this successfully?

Thanks,
Daniel

I have exact the same problem. I cant get it to work properly. Also i tried all the eboot.nb0's for the windows-CE 5.0 which i can find on the freescale site but these dont even output anything on either of the serial ports. The eboot we build from the platform builder doesnt work either. Most probably the initialisation of the UART goes wrong for some reason (other clock freq?) But I really cant figure why untill now. If somebody has a suggestion please let me know.

Melle

Thank you for the reply. That makes sense, too bad its almost impossible to find this information on the website. I now found a thing called quickfix but only my supplier can download it? Well I noticed him, perhaps I can have it by tomorow. Odd though that they dont include all the software together with the board that cost 3250 euros. Thanks again, I hope this wil solve the problems!

Melle

Dear Adubost,

Thank you for your response. Fortunately this issue have been resolved. It was due to a new version of the processor that required some modifications to the BSP.

Thank you,
Daniel
