Internal and External Crystal enabling

We using MC56F82746 MCU, from DSC series for motor control application.

In that, i need need to use external crystal only for CAN peripheral and internal crystal used for all other clocks like (Core,Bus,etc).

Any one have an idea about this please share it.

Hello @senthilprabhug ,

Thanks for your post. This is achievable. You can use config tools to implement it with a simple configuration. Please refer to the attached document for detailed steps about config tools usage.

The configuration mainly involves the following two steps:

1. In the Clock Config Tool, simply enable the external crystal. You can observe that all other modules are still clocked by the internal crystal by default.

2. In the peripheral configuration tool, set the clock source of the CAN peripheral to EXT_CLK.

At last, click Update Code, and you can see the specific changes in the code.
