Error: Failed to initialized DAP

Hi,

I'm encountering an issue when trying to debug my project using a SEGGER J-Link with an NXP RW612 board. Below is the error message I'm receiving:

Listening on TCP/IP port 2331

Connecting to target...

InitTarget() start SWD selected.

Executing JTAG -> SWD switching sequence.

DAP initialized successfully.

DMAP_REG_ID: DM-AP IDCODE detected: 0xFFFFFFFF

ERROR: Wrong DM-AP IDCODE detected: 0xFFFFFFFF

InitTarget() end - Took 201ms Connect failed.

Resetting via Reset pin and trying again.

InitTarget() start SWD selected.

Executing JTAG -> SWD switching sequence.

Error: Failed to initialized DAP. InitTarget() end - Took 102ms

ERROR: Could not connect to target.

Setup Details:

Device: NXP RW612
Interface: SWD
J-Link Software Version: V8.10
Connection Speed: 4000kHz
Target Voltage: 3.30 V

I've tried the following troubleshooting steps:

Checked all physical connections and verified the cable quality.
Power-cycled the board and tried different USB ports.
Updated the J-Link software and firmware to the latest versions.
Used J-Link Commander for manual connection attempts, but encountered the same error.
Verified that the correct target device and settings are selected in MCUXpresso IDE.

When attempting to build the project, the process completes successfully. However, initiating a debug session results in failure. The previously built version remains operational, and I am able to run that application without issue. Unfortunately, the new build does not execute as expected and appears to be stuck, defaulting to the previous version.

Hi,

Could you please share a picture of your setup connected?

If not, please confirm if you are using RD-RW612 or FRDM-RW612.

Hi,

The board is the RD-RW612BGA. We have a usb to microusb connected as power supply and nothing else connected to the board.

Please send a picture of your board.
You might have a jumper setting causing this.

Hi,

Please try using J19 with a J-Link debugger.
Please notice that RF_CNTL_2 should be in 1 (check the schematic).
