Well. It sounds like things stabilize once power is up. So, I would look at:
- Power Sequence
- DDR POR signals (these need to be present very very early in the sequence so the 8544 can drive CKE and the power supplies correctly)
- HW Spec lists a bunch of pins that need to be pulled one way or another (i.e. TEST_SEL, ASLEEP)

...

Hello All,

I am having a problem with my MPC8544E booting up properly from a power on. When HRESET de asserts the "ReadY' bit never goes high and the "Asleep" never goes low so the processor is "hung" But if I do a manual reset (toggle Hreset) or do a SReset" everything is good to go. I am fairly sure (at least in my own mind but....) that I have covered everything in regards to configurations and clocks and so forth but still no luck. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your time.

Bryan

thank you very much Paul for your responce. Regarding items 1 and 2 and am fairly confident that these are within spec. I have a question regarding item number 2. I am not sure to which signals that you are refering to with the DDR POR signals. I am "assuming" that you are refering to LGPL0 and LGPL1 signals. Is this correct or am I off in left field somewhere. Again thank you for your time.

Best Regards,

Bryan
