What do you mean by C++ support? The CodeWarrrior for StarCore DSPs standard edition has a C++ compiler for code development for that part, if that is what you mean.

---Tom

I appologize I should have been more clear. I am running SmartDSP OS on a MSC8144, regular C files compile/load/run fine, however when I add a c++ file I get a lot of compile errors, mainly in the os files.

I suppose my question should have been does SmartDSP OS support C++ files, however reading the CodeWarrior for Starcore v10 documentation made me think, in that version at least, SmartDSP OS does support c++ files, although it didn't seem as though v10 supported the MSC8144.

I am using version 3.1 of CodeWarrior, google searching for "SmartDSP OS C++" "CodeWarrior C++", etc is how I got to the v10 documentation. I realize v3.1 does have a C/C++ compiler, but in the documentation I have there is no indication the C++ files can be included in the SmartDSP OS.

Thanks

SmartDSP OS supports both the MSC8144 and the MSC8x56 families of DSP. The CodeWarrior 10.x tools don't (to the best of my knowledge) make a separation between these two families in their support of C++; I have no knowledge regarding the 3.x set as SmartDSP support on this toolset has been frozen at release R02.05.02 and all development since has been ported to the Eclipse based 10.x toolchain.

SmartDSP doesn't currently support C++ on MSC8144 due to lack of requirement.

Dov Levenglick,

SmartDSP OS Team Leader
