When trying to program a 56F8322 with the USB tap, I get the following error:

Error: Could not write to PRAM, this usually means the wrong configuration file was used

Well, the correct configuration file is being used, what else could be the cause of this error?

This occurs immediately after the "Placing device into debug mode" message, on both the command line "FFLASH.EXE" and with the windows GUI version.

Thanks in advance

-Jim

Hi,
are you using the 56800E Flash programming?
Are you sure that the config file is the right one (and if it's the right one that is the one coming from the last version of CW)?
The JTAG clock speed is set right? The flash AFAIK cannot be written if there is a wrong clock speed. I use 800 kHz for parallel port and, I think, 1000 kHz for USBtap (I don't use USBtap so I can't be sure about this).

Let me know

Bye Jack
