Dear TechSupport,

I am also looking for a configurable low-power class-D audio amplifier (with I2S). I also found the two named ICs very interesting (TFA9879, TFA8200) - but on both product pages the statement "not recommended for new designs" can be found. Why is that and does it really affect both products? Is the whole category of digital low-power audio amplfiers abandoned at NXP?

Kind regards,
Martin

Hi,

I'm looking for a class-D audio amplifier with speaker diagnostics.

I'm checking TDF8530TH/N2, TDF8597TH/N1, TDF8599CTH/N1.

1. We use 8 ohm speakers but the data sheet contains only the specifications for the 4 ohm and 2 ohm speakers.

I would like to know the following specifications for 8 ohm speakers.

- Recommended supply voltage.

- Max output.

- Output(W) to THD+N graph (according to audio frequency).

Specification of our device : THD+N is less than 3% when 1kHz audio, 20W output condition.

The output power difference between 200Hz(5kHz) and 1kHz should be within +-5dB.

2. Can I manually run DC diagnostics after the IC is powered on?

If possible, please let me know the sequence of S/W processing.

Thanks.

Woo-Geun.
