We are sorry for the delay to attend your queries.

Please check the next information about your questions:

1) The PN7150 has the I2C Host interface, so yes it can be used with PIC or AVR MCUs as long as they have I2C interface.

2) PN7150 uses a different interface protocol called NCI (NFC Controller Interface) from NFC Forum. So the PN532 library is not compatible.

3) Power consumption depends on the mode. You can see the numbers in Table 1 of the corresponding datasheet:

http://www.nxp.com/documents/data_sheet/PN7150.pdf

4) For antenna design and matching there is the application note AN11755.

Hello,

we are building an standalone NFC Reader which can read Type-A ,Type-B cards and store the data on to some SPI/I2C EEPROM for access controlling. we are planning to use PN7150 along with any PIC micro-controller or AVR Microcontoller.while researching on the same, we have difficulties finding the library for PN7150.can any one help us clarifying the following doubts

1.can PN7150 be used with low end micro-controllers like PIC /AVR.

2.mostly PN532 library is available for arduino environment.does the same Library works for the PN7150 (only need Poll with automatic detection of Type-A/B cards and READ operations)

3.whats the current consumption of PN7150

4.How difficult is to design the antenna matching circuit..is there any balun chips available for simplifying the antenna matching circuit

5.any firmware examples with respect to 8bit controllers?

6.we are planning to use NFC antennas readly available.like this..http://www.johansontechnology.com/datasheets/antennas/NFC1AT80A01N8.pdf ..can any help available related to proper matching of antenna circuitry

7.is there any limitations about antenna matching components packaging..example (0201,0402,0603 etc)..we are planning to use 0201 or 0402 components..

Thank you

with regards

Dr.N.Chandra sekhar,M.Tech,Phd

Hi Jorge,

Thanks for your kind reply. Is PN7150 available in market or yet to release to market, i had checked most online distributors, and unable to find a supplier, even on NXP site Buy options are unavailable. can you able to get some help on this.

Regarding our application, we need to actually use reader for automatic detection of Type -A,Type-B cards and read if card present ..Can you able to stream line some suedo code or simple explain what are the intialization routines, config and reading procedures etc in a flow, so that we may try to port only necessary code from the NCI NFC library ..Bcz we have a very short design time of <30days dead line,..Thank you.

with regards

Dr.N.Chandra Sekhar,M.tech,Phd
