Hi,

I'm having trouble flashing and bringing up a new FW in a <LI-PRODUCT title="PN7642" id="PN7642"></LI-PRODUCT>

For testing I'm using 2 PN7642 EVK boards.

On a factory device (In C100 chip), I have no problem booting it at USB_DWL mode with the USB_DWL push button.

I needed to flash a FW compiled with last SDk (2.15), so I needed to flash first the check_nfcfw_update FW to update to 03.00 NXP FW.

After that, I flashed my PCSC FW with the same procedure and worked with no problem.

Next step in testing, I use a C101 chip soldered in the same board (I' ve now 2 EVK, factory C100 chip one and a reworked with a C101 chip).

In teh 2nd case (C101 chip), starts as USB Download, cause no software is flashed from factory (I assume).

I tried same approach with this board (copy check_nfcfw_update.bin and then my PCSC FW).

It do not worked. I ended flashing with SWD (MCULink) in order to boot with check_nfcfw_update.bin (and update from 02.00 to 03.00, as logs state) and the flash my FW.

What I am missing here? I now in C100 chip, pinless download is disabled by default. But, if starts in USB DWL mode, why is not working at least for NXP FW upgrade?

What is doing the MCULink that Is not working in USB DWL?

Regards,

Hello @V_Palacio

The version of C101 chip initialized with firmware 02.00 by default.
So, what you mean is in teh 2nd case (C101 chip), flashed check_nfcfw_update.bin but failed, right? Please follow the chapter 3 (Updating NXP firmware) of AN14540 (Firmware update on PN7642) to run check_nfcfw_update project directly to update FW.
