Hello @Karyliu

What's the main difference between MFRC522 and RC522?
Ans: Actually, the two are the same product.

Do these two chips support use on the operating system (Windows \ Android \ Linux)? Is there a corresponding driver code?
Ans: Just running on Windows, and there are not any examples for reference.

Are there any restrictions on the main control chips that these two ICs can be paired with?
Ans: No restrictions, just SPI interface communication should be available.

What support does NXP provide for these two chips?
Ans: As the MFRC522 is not recommended for new designs we do not have more information but the one in the public we page. We have some examples for some LPC's and other Kinetis files for the recommended products CLRC663 plus.

Best Regards,

Yes, CLRC663+MCU can run with FreeRTOS, and NXP provides the examples all based on FreeRTOS.

For MCU, which is no limitation, just has SPI or I2C interface should be ok.

It's best to choose NXP MCUS because NXP offers routines that are based NXP's MCUS, such as LPC1769 and FRDM-K82F for your reference.
