Hi,

I am in process of selecting one suitable processor from MPC57xx or MPC56xx or MPC55xx series for my automotive application. Also, I am new to automotive processor application of NXP. So I have few clarification on software development tools for processor mentioned in above series,

1. Are low level drivers available like BSPs? Is there a software to generate drivers as I enable the required peripheral like in MCUXpresso?

2. Kindly list out supported IDE and compiler?

3. Is the IDE and compiler licensed or not? If paid, kindly list out cost details.

Kindly provide above details ASAP.

Hello,

. Are low level drivers available like BSPs? Is there a software to generate drivers as I enable the required peripheral like in MCUXpresso?

Yes, there is SDK and processor expert in S32DS for MPC5xxx family.

There are also AUTOSAR MCAL drivers free from NXP.

2. Kindly list out supported IDE and compiler?

S32DS: it is project manager, bebug host and also includes compiler (gcc) all free from NXP.

https://www.nxp.com/design/software/development-software/s32-design-studio-ide/s32-design-studio-for-power-architecture:S32DS-PA

Besides those you can use Greehills, Windriver and some others which I don't use.

3. Is the IDE and compiler licensed or not? If paid, kindly list out cost details.

S32DS is free and it is NXP product. Any other you need to discuss with product vendor.

Best regards,

Hi Peter,

Thank you for your response and solution.

I found there is code warrior for eTPU software . I need to use eTPU functions, do I need purchase Code Warrior or is the same available in S32DS?

Regards,

Eashwar

Hello,

If you want to develop your own eTPU functions then you need to buy eTPU CW10.3 from NXP or whole development studio from Ashware.

In S32DS there is no eTPU configurator.

If you dont want your own functions, then it is enought to get functions written by NXP from eTPU function selector:

https://www.nxp.com/webapp/etpu_cw/

In this case you are not able to change eTPU code and you can only use our functions.

Best regards,

Peter
