Hello,

I have done a few demo's with other IDE before. I am hardware engineer by trade. I am using mcu expresso toolchain with the FRDM K64F. I am having trouble terminating the demo programs and loading in another. The debugger seems to keep running, unable to access the K64 to stop it, and flash in new program. Seems that the debug/download is unable to stop the running application, so that it can grab control in order to flash new program. I

What firmware does the OpenSDA debug probe on your board have installed in it? And can you check that you have the latest version of the probe firmware, which you can download from http://www.nxp.com/opensda.

If you still have problems after installing the latest, then please confirm which probe firmware you are using - and details of how you are terminating the debug session, and the exact behaviour you see when you try to start the next session.

Regards,

MCUXpresso IDE Support
