Hello,

I want to debug the PNEV7462C dev board with the LPC-Link 2 debugger on Ubuntu 22.10.
I installed the MCUxpresso IDE 11.7 successfully and build the application. When starting debugging, I get the error message:

Redlink Server output:

I also tried this script, but it did not found the debug probe as well:

/usr/local/lpcscrypt/scripts/program_CMSIS

Other versions of MCUxpresso IDE did also not work.

For users of the MCUXpresso IDE, firmware is automatically soft loaded to the probe when a debug operation is first performed. Base on your description of the issue, the following link video could help you.

Hi, thanks for your reply.
As I wrote above, I am on a Ubuntu 22.10 OS (Linux), not Windows. I can not install a Windows driver.
As you can see from my output, the device is found, but firmware is not loaded to the probe when a debug operation is performed.

Hello @tsteffen

Based on your development environment it is recommended that you use MCU-Link Pro Debug Probe which is compatible with windows 10, MacOS and Linux. Then LPC-LINK is not compatible with Linux.
You can download the Linux driver and its details from the below link:

Then LPC-LINK is not compatible with Linux.

Firmware can easily be loaded into the board using the free LPCScrypt utility, which runs on Windows (7/8/10), MacOS and Linux. Note that when using LPCXpresso IDE or MCUXpresso IDE, no firmware programming is required.

And it worked 1 year ago with Ubuntu 20.04.

Yes, you're right, I made a mistake. But LPC-Link is no longer recommended and replaced.
its drivers or documentation will not follow the update. Debugging a device on a new platform (exclude MCUxpresso IDE) requires a new debugger. It is still recommended that you use MCU-LINK Pro debug probe to debug your device.
