topic FOC tuning in s32k144 closed loop model in Model-Based Design Toolbox (MBDT)

Hello,

I am trying to tune the foc controllers for a different motor using a modified s32k144 closed loop model. How should i approach the tuning process? Should i tune the speed controller first then the current controllers or is it the other way around.

Motor is running fine in open loop and to some extent in closed loop but it produces loud screeching sound when running in closed loop.

i am just tuning the current controllers by trail and error. Is there a systematic way to tune it . I tried pid autotuner but the values it gave didnt work.

Finally i read in one of the pmsm workshop post that the current controllers should be only tuned when the rotor is in standstill. Is there a reason for this?

Thank you

@Daniel_Popa
