topic How many quadrature signals can the S32k144 take as input? in Model-Based Design Toolbox (MBDT)

My project need to control 3 motors and keep track of their positions. I am aware that FTM1 and FTM2 are the only modules that are capable of reading quadrature input. But is it like PWM generation using the FTM where each model has 4 channel pairs and each pair can handle one quadrature pair, giving it 8 total? Or can module only handle one quadrature pair, making it only two total?

I am working with the model based design toolbox and the quadrature decoder block seem to suggest it is the second.

Hi Ray Wu,

S32K144 has only 2 quadrature decoders, one for FTM1 and one for FTM2. Each FTM has one counter, so you can't use more than one quadrature decoder per FTM.

Best regards,

Adrian.
