I am facing an issue while controlling the MCSPTE1AK144 kit using the MATLAB/Simulink open-loop and closed loop examples available.

The target model builds and the generated file can be flashed to the S32K144 successfully. MATLAB also detects the OpenSDA CDC serial port and the host model is able to establish communication.

However, whenever I start the host model and switch the motor ON, the motor shaft either twitches briefly or does not run, and the D11 red LED immediately turns ON/flashes, indicating a fault. The motor then stops responding.

Basic board communication has been verified separately using the LPUART Hello World example, which builds, flashes, and communicates successfully through the OpenSDA serial port.

Could you please advise what could cause the motor-control application to enter a fault immediately after starting control from the MATLAB host model, and which fault/status variables should be checked to identify the root cause?

Hardware: MCSPTE1AK144 (S32K144-EVB + DEVKIT-MOTORGD)
Motor: Sunrise 42BLY3A78-24110
MATLAB/Simulink with NXP MBDT

Thanks.
