Why is the CodeRedWiki search so lame?

Most default searches return:

Your search query "breakpoint" didn't return any results. Please change some terms and refer to HelpOnSearching for more information.

Sure doing the full-text search works to some extent. Why not make the Text search the default and Titles search the secondary. Rarely will we hit a Title that matches our search query, but a Text search usually brings up some results.

Under Navigation many menu items return:
[B]You are not allowed to view this page.[/B]

Even the link HelpOnSearching in the message above returns this.

It would be very helpful if the Wiki underwent some serious maintenance especially since the new IDE is coming out soon.

It's bad enough that the forum search is lame and we have to use Google, Bing, etc.

Help us out. Improve the search mechanisms please.

As a newbie, I do'nt know what I do'nt know - so searching for it is hard. Members have pointed me to helpful support articles that I never new existed because I never knew they were issues - An easy to find list of support articles would be helpful to me and purhaps other newbies.

So to me it looks like he used the search on the wiki since that is the exact answer I get - on most of my questions ... Maybe that's why I never think of the corrects wiki when searching for answers.
The forum search is hidden under a menu item in the top bar - but at least that one does return some valid results.

On the other hand I have to give much credit to the CodeRed support on the forum, they provide great answers. They mostly provide useful answers.
I've used tools with expensive support contracts that provide way less ...
So yes, the wiki may not be perfect (or usable if I translate larry's comments) but the support in this forum is nice!think that's worth mentioning :)

On that I concur 100%.:D If my first post seemed a little "rough" I apologize for my tone. It was much worse before I edited it.

My suggestion is that the Wiki search default be for Text instead of Titles e.g. if you enter a search query and hit return you get a Title search that 99% of the time will not match anything, thus the no results message. If the search defaulted to a Text search most of the time it will return some results.

I know about the forum search and use it too. I find that a Google "search with site" returns better results though. The Google search is also the best for short queries e.g. SPI, RTC etc. I'm supposed to be using Bing.:eek:
