Very good! I will bring my bit also in the not too distant future.

I have a bad experience with Bluetooth, supposedly has a range of 10 meters, but if there is any obstacle, the signal is lost much earlier.

Something positive with Bluetooth is that a microcontroller can communicate with a PC.

What are the advantages/disadvantages between Bluetooth, and the module MRF24J40?

Anyone with experience in the subject can give his opinion.

Interface: UART

No setup required :eek:: just connect VCC, GND, RxD, TxD and use UART with 19200 bps (higher baud rates can set via AT command) to use Bluetooth Serial Port.

On eBay there is a similar module for $10, but there is also a module MRF24J40 with similar characteristics.

For that reason asked about the advantages and disadvantages of each.

Sorry, wasn't aware that you are looking for someone who can read & compare 2 datasheets :p.

Back to work:

18dBm (=63mW) Output Power is much more than 0 dBm (=1mW).

Don't know what you are trying to do, but after blaming Bluetooth for 'signal is lost much earlier' it could be a good idea to look for a module with high RF Output (and low RX sensitivity):) and use them for LPC & PC (which often use built-in Class2 BTM).

Its Bluetooth module has 18dB, but that's not the norm. And the module is on eBay does not specify the power output.

I recently started a blog where I'll be developing scientific instruments using the LPCXpresso board: http://quantalume.com. Now, if we could just find a source for the 1768 boards. :( I'm going to hedge my bets and make everything compatible with the mbed as well.
