Content originally posted in LPCWare by sjondur on Tue May 22 16:39:14 MST 2012
Launching usbcdc

1. Program downloads and launches.
2. Press red square, it stops successfully.
3. Press Debug and it hangs at 57% Launching.
4. Press red square, and nothing happens.
5. Press red square a couple of times, few seconds later a window shows up with "Terminate failed."
6. Acknowledge "terminate fail"
7. After ~20 seconds it stops.
8. Press Debug, it reports a license restriction with "Ok" as the sole option.
9. The program is running.

The process from 3. to 8. is about 3 minutes.

This is repeatable.

It seems like I am doing something wrong.
Is there a way to get around steps 3. to 8. and just launch the thing twice in a row?

Thanks.

There isn't really enough information in your report to make an educated guess as to what might be happening though. For example....

What host operating system?

What target board?

After you terminate the first connection, double check that there are no crt_emu_* (exact name depends upon target) still running.

What happens if you leave things for a minute or 2 rather than trying to terminate when the tools are at 57%?

It might be worth booting the board into ISP mode before connecting....

http://support.code-red-tech.com/CodeRedWiki/DebugAccessChip

Do you also get the same behaviour if you create a fresh workspace, import a "standard" blink app from the examples, and try downloading that?

Regards,
CodeRedSupport

Content originally posted in LPCWare by CodeRedSupport on Thu May 24 05:35:11 MST 2012
I've just tried debugging an LPC1343 mounted on an NGX baseboard here (on a native Win7-32 machine) - no problems seen.

It does sound like it might be a baseboard issue - if nothing else, make sure that you have the LPCXpresso board mounted correctly - there is a picture showing this on the first page of NGX's manual...

http://www.shop.ngxtechnologies.com/download/user_manual/mbed_Xpresso_Baseboard/NGX_Xpresso_1343_mX_BaseBoard.pdf

Another thing to check would be how are you powering the board. I strongly suggest providing additional power to it - the LPCXpresso board is unlikely to be able to provide sufficient power to the baseboard for reliable operation. Another thing to try might be to use an alternative USB port on your computer too.

Finally check the docs and potentially NGX's forums for advice on jumpers etc. Unfortunately we at CodeRed are not currently that familiar with this baseboard, so cannot really provide much advice on its use.

Regards,
CodeRedSupport
