Fresh install - Cannot debug!

Hi there,

I just purchased a LPC1114 LPCXpresso Board, followed the Getting Started guide closely, however I can't load blinky on to the board.

Error message at 57% when Launching blinky Debug:

Command failed: target extended-remote | crt_emu_lpc11_13_nxp -g -mi -2 -pLPC1114/302 -vendor=NXP -wire=hid -msg-port=1138

Reason:

There is no reason provided...

In the console, in red, is a single line:

set remotetimeout 60000

Searching hasn't returned much. Any ideas?

I see no MCU Debug Log option on the console list, only C-Build and <terminated> blinky Debug

So, lets try some standard questions that always get asked:

- which OS?
- whcih version of LPCXpresso?
- have you tried different USB ports
- have you got a proper USB2 cable?
- did LPC-Link boot?
- have you got a serial number and activated?
- if you just plug in LPCXpresso, does the LED flash?
- are you using a baseboard? Is it powered independently?

I also have a similar problem ( IDE stuck with "set remotetimeout 60000" message), but with a LPC1769 Xpresso board on Win7-64. Restarting and repluging everything solves the problem.
I didn't search any other solutions, or the root cause of this problem.

Hi Angelo,

Unfortunately I have tried all the regular debug steps and have got no where here.

It might be worth mentioning when I launch LPCXpresso, whilst Loading Workbench the following error pops up:

Internal error: No vendors found
Exception

However pressing okay the program loads, and claims "LPCXpresso4 is fully activated".

Any ideas? Is there there a more official support avenue? Should I just return the damn thing?

Fixed.

Following that lead, and reading this thread I changed my install directory from:

[INDENT]D:\Program Files\nxp\LPCXpresso_4.2.3_292\lpcxpresso[/INDENT]

to

[INDENT]D:\nxp\LPCXpresso_4.2.3_292\lpcxpresso[/INDENT]

and it worked fine.

Interestingly, D:\Program Files is not protected on my computer, which was the reason given in the previous thread. I suspect LPCXpresso has some issues with spaces in the directory name. A warning about this should be included...

Indeed I can confirm a space anywhere in the install directory path breaks the IDE.

This should be fixed or warned about during install.
