Hi guys,

I have have downloaded and installed v800 b526 32 bit linux lpcxpresso on
my desktop computer and laptop. Both up to date installs of Debian v8.2
testing with mate desktop.
When I create a new project with the wizard it will ask me all the questions
but after the last "finish" it will just sit there...........until I kill it.
The workspace dir is created with the .metadata in it and that is populated
with files. I tried and deleted the workspace, started lpcx which then reloaded
with default settings.

So now I downloaded and installed v792 which works just fine.

Any ideas where to look or to start ?

I have spend a day or 2 on this with various google searches, reinstalls and
countless times creating projects with different settings in the wizard.
I am trying to write firmware for a lpc1517.

Debian is not one of the distros that we support.

However, have you installed the 32-bit compatibility libraries and gone through the other items in the Linux installation notes in the LPCXpresso User Guide, and online at: https://www.lpcware.com/content/faq/lpcxpresso/linux-installation ?

Hi,

Ubuntu is Debian based, but without that awful desktop called unity or gnome 3 for that matter.
I have no problem running v792, I use to have some old version v5xx running.

My linux install is 32 bit, I do have a few more IDEs like ccs v610, mplabx and crossworks. Also
not supported on Debian :-)

There is nothing 32 bit special I can find on the mentioned webpage which seems to be for
64 bit only.

Like I mentioned lpcx generates the workspace with the hidden directories, but not the project
directory. So it should not be a permissions problem. I did not run lpcx with sudo.

ls -l :

- click new project
- select lpc1500 -> C project
- click next
- project name : 20151222
- use default location
- click next
- target mcu : lpc1549
- click next
- cmsis dsp lib : none
- click next
- disable swv trace clock
- click next
- disable linker support for crp
- user source dir : src
- create inc directory
- C dialect : default
- click finish
--- new popup called "C project" ---
project name is set to 20151222
use default location
- click next
--- select configurations screen (debug/release) ---
- click next
--- select processor type screen ---
lpc1549 selected
- click finish

waiting....waiting....waiting....

So I am using v792 for now until this problem is solved.

Hi,

As previously stated, Debian is not a supported distro.

However we have performed a test install of LPCXpresso IDE v8.0 using Debian v8.2 (debian-8.2.0-i386-netinst.iso) using the Mate Desktop Environment and cannot see the issues you report.
