    <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Content originally posted in LPCWare by graynomad on Wed Sep 14 08:10:56 MST 2011&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;I'm designing a board based on the LPC178x, I need USB and all ADC inputs but there seems to be a clash between USB_VBUS and ADC0_IN[4] and neither can be moved to another pin.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Searching the web I cannot get a definitive answer as whether there is a work around or indeed if VBUS is really needed.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;The manual says&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;HR /&gt;&lt;SPAN style="color: #0000ff;"&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Quote: &lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;USB_VBUS &amp;amp;#8212; Monitors the presence of USB bus power.&lt;BR /&gt;This signal must be HIGH for USB reset to occur.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;HR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Does this mean that once the chip (and USB) is booted I can use that pin for my ADC?&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;I can't believe they would assign two important functions to the pin. &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;______&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Rob&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
