Kubuntu 14.04 (x64), LPCXpresso 7.6.2:

I allways get an extra error window from Symbol Viewer with 'process hasn't exited' and an 'OK' button. And no symbol view.

No problems seen here running Ubuntu14.04.

I presume you see the same problem with any .axf or .o file that you try to open?

Can you open the Symbol Viewer view itself (tabbed in parallel to the Project Explorer View) and try browsing to your .axf / .o instead. Does this work?

It might also be useful to see your {workspace}/.metadata/.log file. Can you zip up and post it?

Yes, it is same with any .axf or .o file.

Symbol Viewer tab is there and browsing from there: Same result.

I deleted the .log. A new one is created with every start of the IDE. The last 2 blocks are added when trying to use the symbol viewer.

None of these messages are anything to with the symbol viewer, and will be created every time you start the IDE .

Could you please run the symbol viewer, generating the error, and then post the entire log file as a text file attachment.

Well, the above log is a complete one: IDE closed, log deleted, IDE opened, trying symbol viewer. Anyway.

Here is a complete log from another workspace on the same machine (with the same error of course).

Strange. What I did:

- Deleted -r /usr/local/lpcxpresso...
- Deleted -r ~/.eclipse
- Installed LPCXpresso 7.6.2
- Created new workspace (now obviously new default is ~/LPCXpresso/workspace)
- Imported archive from fresh installed LPCXpresso
- Build clkout example
- In tab 'Project' selected clkout/Debug/.axf file
- Right click and selected Tools/View Symbols

And then....: Same error.

The log is attached.

Thanks for providing the log file. Unfortunately, it does not give any additional information and we have still not been able to reproduce the problem.

However, by doing a thought experiment, we can think of a scenario where this error could be generated and have modified the code to remove the possibility. This will be in the next LPCXpresso release.

Do you have a particularly fast (or slow) machine?

I would say particularly fast. A Q6600 Quadcore @ 2.4 GHz, 2 GB of RAM.

But at the weekend I tried it on another machine (Kubuntu 14.04, x64); quite more powerful and 8 GB of RAM. Same result. But there I was able to open the symbol view for exactly one time. Not the first time after installing 7.6.2, maybe the 5-8 try.
