From a JTAG perspective, either Red Suite or Xpresso can connect to an EM773.&amp;nbsp; Very soon, I believe the EM773 configuration will be added to the supported part number list.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;2. But the EM773 is not a general purpose MCU.&amp;nbsp; To make use of the metrology engine inside, there is an SDK on the EM773 product page below.&amp;nbsp; This SDK currently only supports IAR EWARM as the host IDE.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;A href="http://"&gt;http://www.nxp.com/smartmetering&lt;/A&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;3. Inside the SDK, all of the software is open source for the EM773 plug meter and the LPC1343 USB dongle, except for the driver library for the metrology engine.&amp;nbsp; So even if someone wanted to port this SDK to Red Suite or Xpresso, they would be successful in porting the wireless communication software and all the code for the LPC1343 USB dongle, but would be unable to port the metrology engine library in it's current form.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;The good news is that I work for NXP and am responsible for the EM773 product as well.&amp;nbsp; If there are enough users out there that would really prefer to use Xpresso or Red Suite as the IDE instead of IAR EWARM, I can work on getting the SDK properly ported, so that Xpresso and LPC Link could be used.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;If anyone sees this support as a requirement for using the EM773, please respond to this thread and let me know.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Neal Frager&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

From a JTAG perspective, either Red Suite or Xpresso can connect to an EM773.&amp;nbsp; Very soon, I believe the EM773 configuration will be added to the supported part number list.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;2. But the EM773 is not a general purpose MCU.&amp;nbsp; To make use of the metrology engine inside, there is an SDK on the EM773 product page below.&amp;nbsp; This SDK currently only supports IAR EWARM as the host IDE.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;A href="http://"&gt;http://www.nxp.com/smartmetering&lt;/A&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;3. Inside the SDK, all of the software is open source for the EM773 plug meter and the LPC1343 USB dongle, except for the driver library for the metrology engine.&amp;nbsp; So even if someone wanted to port this SDK to Red Suite or Xpresso, they would be successful in porting the wireless communication software and all the code for the LPC1343 USB dongle, but would be unable to port the metrology engine library in it's current form.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The good news is that I work for NXP and am responsible for the EM773 product as well.&amp;nbsp; If there are enough users out there that would really prefer to use Xpresso or Red Suite as the IDE instead of IAR EWARM, I can work on getting the SDK properly ported, so that Xpresso and LPC Link could be used.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If anyone sees this support as a requirement for using the EM773, please respond to this thread and let me know.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Neal Frager&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;HR /&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

Yes, J-Link lite and any other JTAG emulator that works with IAR EWARM will work with our EM773 plug meter development kit.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt; &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;3.
