I clearly remember a general statement that most I/O pins are 5V tolerant but can't locate it anymore.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Your big friend is table 7 "static characteristics" in the datasheet (not the user manual) where it is shown that (in digital input mode) Vi = 0..5V.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Please read the notes below the table where it reads "Vdd supply voltage must be present".&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Also remember that the hysteresis on the input pins defines low as &amp;lt; 0.3Vdd and high as &amp;gt; 0.7Vdd with Vdd being your 3.3 or 3.6V so I would not stress the I2C timing to the max when using a 5V I2C bus.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Rob&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
