IDE Problem - Blue symbols in name file

Hello, I´m having a problem with the Code Red IDE.
I´m attaching a picture of what is happening with one source file of my current project.
As you can see, the ADC.c file is marked with the "< >" symbols in blue, both in the project directory and in the opened file.
I´ve been searching for a while in the internet, but i couldn´t find any information about it.

Does anybody know what it means?

The properties of the file adc.c have been modified separately from what the project properties are set to. CodeRedSupport will probably have more specifics on how to resolve this.

You could try to copy a clean version of adc.c into your project thus overwriting this file.

Thanks piperazine I was trying to remember where I had seen that.:)

Fernando may not know what got changed in adc.c or what effect it will have on his project going forward. That's why I suggested a clean copy.

If any of you had this problem, how did you remove the symbols ?? I can´t remove them, even with the "restore defaults" option.

Hello,

I've not ran into any problems before, but just had a little play and there are some issues I've found (I do like to try and break things).

For instance if you select file properties->C/C++ Build->Tool Chain Editor-> then select a different tool like "GCC C Compiler" and click OK. Then go back to that setting and select "MCU C Compiler" (which was the default) and click OK, all the tool settings will have changed, and clicking on "Restore Defaults" does not work. This is not a real world example, but I guess changing some File properties will break the "Restore Defaults" function.

Simplist way (if restore defaults dont seem to be working) as larryvc said would be to create a new file, copy over the code, delete the old file, and rename the new file to suit. Saying that I havent needed to do this myself, restore defaults has always worked for me.

If you right click on the project name you can select restore from local history as you might have an earlier version of your project there.

What piperazine and I suggested has worked well for me when I mess things up.

I was able to eliminate the symbol from the file, but not from the folder icon in the project tree. I tried everything but it´s still there. I supose that if the project is working, i shouldn´t bother spending more time trying to erase that icon.

If the 'blue symbol' if displayed on a folder, then the local settings apply to that folder.

Settings can be applied to a project, a folder and a file. Thus you can have different settings for different files and/or different folders, within the project.

To restore the folder to its defaults right click on the folder, and select properties. The show the Settings and Restore Defaults.
