Content originally posted in LPCWare by kapanmc on Wed Aug 24 09:29:35 MST 2011
Hi,

I am new in this platform so I need your help at least to be able to start coding my LPCXpresso 1769 board. I also have the LPCXPresso Base Board.

I and my friend both tried to debug the boards with 3 different PCs. Either we use Linux or Windows we get similar errors. Especially in Linux while it starts debugging it stays at 57% then gives the error. The error is sometimes "timeout error" or sometimes "target is not reached" and the similar errors appear.

I have checked " http://support.code-red-tech.com/CodeRedWiki/LPCLinkDiagnostics " for configuring my usb settings etc but when I come to "<crt_emu_cm3_nxp> -info-emu -wire=winusb stage it does not work and says there is no library as "crt_emu_cm3_nxp". I added the CMSIS library to my IDE however in most of the case it also gives the library errors.

I really need help! I am also new in embedded system programming and I really wonder how can I cope with such extreme codes and programs since there are millions of makros and details...

You can return me any response regarding the issue on the forum or to my e-mail "kapanmc@gmail.com"

Regards,

I disconnect the LPCXpressro from the baseboard and try to debug but it fails.. :S

Check your USB cables. They MUST be USB2.0 cables (shielded). From your very rough description I think this is the most likely cause of your problem.
2. Ensure you are not plugged into a USB hub
3. Try different USB ports.
4. Please tell us *exactly* what error messages you are getting (on Windows or Linux). Just telling us you get a vague error message does not help us understand what is going wrong.
5. If you have tried the diagnostics, copy/paste the terminal output
