Content originally posted in LPCWare by CodeRedSupport on Thu Mar 17 09:09:25 MST 2011
Basically, any example that does more than blink an LED is not going to be particularly informative if you don't have a base board or any other add-on hardware.

In this case you might find the LPCXpresso1114.zip examples a better starting place for experimenting with your board, as these examples only rely upon the hardware on the LPCXpresso board itself.

Note that, assuming that your board has an LPC1114/302 part on it, then you will need to change the MCU setting for these projects from LPC1114/301 to LPC1114/302 in order to debug them:

http://support.code-red-tech.com/CodeRedWiki/ChangingProjectTarget

otherwise you will see "Invalid, mismatched, or unknown part" errors when connecting, as described in:

http://support.code-red-tech.com/CodeRedWiki/InvalidPart

[This is an unfortunate consequence of the latest batch of LPCXpresso1114 boards having slightly different silicon on them to the original ones, which we weren't aware of when the current version of the LPCXpresso IDE shipped.]

You might also find the following FAQ regarding the examples supplied with LPCXPresso useful...

http://support.code-red-tech.com/CodeRedWiki/SuppliedExamples

Regards,
CodeRedSupport
